About Us

1st Wootton Bassett Scouts Badge1st Wootton Bassett Scout Group has two Beaver Colonies, three Cub Packs, and two Scout Troops.  All our sections are very active, especially the Scout Troops who offer activities ranging from kayaking, to hiking, to camping (and many more).

Scouting in Wootton Bassett was established in early 1910 and has grown from strength to strength since then.  During the 1st World War the Group sent food parcels to former Scouts serving overseas, and a role of honour can be seen in our current building.

We have had several homes over our 100+ year history, but we settled in our current location in 1957.  In 1980 we replaced the original building with a larger one where we still meet today.
